• Organised around a particular theme, an annual meeting gives its members the opportunity to talk to each other and exchange experiences. This meeting can be considered as professional training.

• Elisad members can participate in working groups set up at our annual meetings. These groups focus on particular projects of common interest. The virtual library implemented on the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre on drugs and drug Addiction) website is an example of a project that involved many Elisad members.
  
  
• An ongoing project is the construction of the Elisad internet subject gateway on alcohol and other drugs. It will be a world wide web portal that will enable professionals to easily find the information they are looking for, from websites that give relevant quality information.
  
  
• The Elisad electronic journal gives members the opportunity to share news and information. Subjects covered are: articles on library and information technologies, drug policies in European countries, news, changes in members' organisations, and new websites and publications. Members can also publicise their own activities and events.
  
  
• The electronic mailing list allows members to contact all the others. This is useful when quick help or advice is needed...
