Annual Meetings

Once a year Elisad members meet in an annual meeting. This annual meeting is organised by one of the Elisad members with support of an organising committee.

The annual meeting consist of two parts:

  • A conference around a special theme which is of interest to all information professionals in the Alcohol and Drugs Field.

  • A business meeting concerned with the affairs of the Elisad Association itself.

The Annual meeting is to enable librarians, documentalist, and other information specialists to get together, exchange ideas and information, strengthen the network and discuss all things of concern in our professional lives.

2009 Annual Meeting in Budapest

Elisad's 21st. Annual Meeting was organised by ESKI (The National Institute for Strategic Health Research) in Budapest, 8 -10 October. The theme of the meeting is Addiction in society - what information services contribute.

The Annual Meeting  explored issues to do with addictions and young people and families as well as other addicions such as behavioural ones, like gambling and the internet. We discussed the contribution made by information and documetnation services to those with addiction. Researchers, librarians and information specialists who work in the addiction field gave presentations on the themes mentioned above. Thanks to our members, Beatrix Kovacs and Maria Paloti, for having built a conference wiki on our meeting. Presentations from the meeting will be available on the wiki.
